Big week!!! I finally got the our Ohio SBDC center year end grant invoices completed and submitted. Anyone close to me knows how much of my time this takes every year in October but now it is done so I can quasi return to some sense of normalcy when it come to SBDC stuff.
This morning I attended the inaugural Wakeup Startup event at Ohio State University. It is a pretty cool event that allows entrepreneurs the opportunity to present their business in a 10 minute format followed by Q&A to an audience of community members interested in supporting the growth of entrepreneurial activity in the area. The pitch could include requests for funding but also help in outreach, customer acquisition, technology development or whatever the business needs to move forward. It is a pretty supportive and non-threatening environment for entrepreneurs to seek community support.
The next Wakeup Startup event will be on December 2 at the Ohio State University. If you are developing an innovative business and are interested in presenting visit the Wakeup Startup site and submit your pitch. If you just want to check it out I would encourage you to attend.
The final BIG NEWS is that I launched the Ideas2Deals Facebook page TA DA! Ok maybe it isn't that big a deal but it is up. Hopefully we can take the content from here and other sources as well as videos and interviews to create some dialog that can help and support small business owners build successful companies. If you have not already done so please go check it out, "Like" the page and let me know what you would like to see there.
Now on to this weekend's business long run. Remember these are articles that I have come across this week that would be good to look at to improve your business. This weekend I'm thinking about running 8 to 10 miles and reading these posts:

Finally here is my weekly running partner. Not really someone I run with but rather a resource I want with me to help my business. This week my running partner recommendation is Keith Speers. Keith is a serial entrepreneur that is very knowledgeable when it comes to business. He is the founder of BizProTips.com a site dedicated to providing expert content and educational webinars to help entrepreneurs take specific steps to improve their business. It is a great site and I highly recommend it.
