This week my #FollowFriday person you should know is Cheryl Harrison. Cheryl is the Tactical Lead for Social Business Strategies helping companies address business needs via social media. She is an avid blogger at BeingCheryl.com, Greatest City of All and at TappedIn.tv. She is also a famous twitter'er, facebook'er, linkedIn'er, Digg'er, Stumble On'er, You Tube'er etc, etc, etc.
She recently graduated from Capital University with a B.A. in Public Relations and minors in Political Science and Journalism at the age of 20 (impressive). While many people of that age may not have much expereince Cheryl has leveraged a number of internships and short-term engagements into an impressive list of references. These include Wilks Broadcasting, CD101, OhioHealth, Priceline.com, People To My Site and Sync Creative. Cheryl has also been a speaker at numerous programs most noteably the Ohio SBDC's Be The Boss and Ohio Growth Summit.
I first met Cheryl when she decided she wanted to do some networking but not the usual cattle call events where you have to fight off insurance and cell phone salespeople (my words not her's) but rather something a little more social media enabled. She started a process to meet people called "Fast Friends" (you can read the post I don't need to spell it all out). I thought this was pretty cool as it allowed a college student to meet a number of professionals that would truly build her network...Genius!
I find Cheryl to be very smart. She understands not only the "how to" of social media but also the strategy revolving around the implementation of social media to gain results. I find her blog very amusing yet informational (if she chooses the post to be informative). Her Twitter is also very valuable in that I know if she is tweeting or re-tweeting content it is something that I will get benefit from it.
Why don't we let Cheryl speak for herself and tell you three things you may not know about her:
Given all that that this is my #FollowFriday for August 27, 2010. Be sure to check out Cheryl on her blog at Being Cheryl and on Twitter at @CherylHarrison.
She is "A Good Idea"!

Awwa, this post makes me sound a lot cooler than I really am :)
Appreciate the kind words Mike, thank you!
